Rising Youth Theatre:

The mission of Rising Youth Theatre is to create youth driven theatre that is riveting and relevant, challenging audiences to hear new stories, start conversations and participate in their communities.

Rising Youth Theatre believes in:

  • In the radical potential of youth.
  • In creating art that is embedded in and reflective of our community.
  • That everyone who wants to see or participate in theatre should have access to it.
  • In what is possible when people from different ethnicities, genders, ages, social circumstances and cultural contexts come together.
  • That youth deserve to see themselves, their values and their experiences reflected onstage in making great art.

Genesis City:

Since its inception in 1991, Genesis City has provided hope and a new beginning to over 7,000 of the most disadvantaged teenagers in Maricopa County. Located in central Phoenix, Genesis City is a 501(C))(3) youth services charity that serves to strengthen communities. Genesis provides poverty level 14-21 year olds, the majority of whom are the first in their families to graduate from high school, the opportunity to re-access the education pipeline and blossom into successful life-long learners and civically engaged community members. Genesis graduates become “Trailblazers” for their families and inspire the disengaged youth in their neighborhoods as they forge their successful path to college and careers. Many Genesis City alumni have graduated from colleges and vocational programs and are now working in well paid careers all over the Valley. Genesis City’s innovative programs break the cycle of poverty and contribute to the economic and social welfare of Metropolitan Phoenix.

Love Pup Foundation:

#LovePup originated organically in the backyard of Johnjay and Blake Van Es’s home about two years ago. #LovePup operated as a program under the #LoveUp Foundation, to place unwanted, abandoned, abused, or stray dogs in the best homes possible. In June 2017 the #LovePup Foundation was born to continue to intake dogs into the Van Es home where they are socialized with a true home lifestyle around children until they are placed with their forever families. Each of our #LovePup’s are evaluated by a vet, is current on vaccines, and altered before being placed with their new families. We do all that we can, while we can, when we have these pups in our care.
